|  | 4 You can see more easily how I have set these. The incorrect way would have been run a line of black all the way around the white then set the 'arms'. |
|  | 5 One way to fill the triangle. Putting adhesive in the whole area ensures you work quickly, avoiding too much over analysis of your work. |

 The original mosaic, a Late Roman pattern, 6th century AD. |In the first stage I have made a free hand drawing onto cement fibre board. These are guidelines and you must treat them as such. The key is to develop an eye to be able to see how many lines of tesserae you can fit into each area.
